While the government has done much for promoting Smart Nation, many elderly people remain ignorant about it, due to fear of being unable to catch up, which may further increase the divide between the tech-savvy population, and the elderly.

Insights about the elderly

Before the cessation of the 2G Network, most elderly owned basic Smart Phones (Nokia Phones).

However, now they own Smart Phones (iPhones or Andorid Phones), but only use for calling or texting.

During our research, we explained more about Smart Nation to the elderly. After explaining, they were interested in learning more about Smart Nation.

Most elderly live alone and have the social workers as their sole point of contact.
